Do I have to use the booster gel shipped with the device?

Your niostem device is shipped with a 6-month supply of booster gel and pre-installed silver-coated electrodes. 

The niostem headset can be used with ("wet") or without the booster gel ("dry"). However, the lifetime of the silver-coated electrodes is between 2-4 months of daily use. This means that after that time the silver coating will crack and fall off, resulting in a significant drop in performance i.e. you will not reach a good scalp-electrode connection (+80% as shown in the App) and thus, you will not be able to start your daily 30-min sessions. In this situation, we recommend you to use the booster gel to solve this problem. The gel works equally well with silver coated (new) and uncoated (old, cracked or peeled off) electrodes.

The booster gel increases scalp-electrode contact and makes reaching good connection very quick (less than 10 sec). The gel is water soluble so that after the use you don’t need to wash it out; just comb your hair with your hand and the gel will disappear without traces. niostem also tested extensively and the booster gel does not cause any skin problems.
